Hellooooo WNYMoms.com members! Yes, I'm still around though I
haven't been here as much as I've wanted lately. As I've said a
bunch of times before, we all wear multiple hats around here at
Channel 2 and my production schedule (I'm also the
Daybreak/morning audio engineer) over the last 6
months has dominated my work schedule. Being a new/old mommy of a
14-month-old and a 9-year-old has dominated the rest of my life.
Luckily for me, we have some really wonderful longtime members
and my partner in crime, Trixy2, keeping the lights on
here on WNYMoms.com. I truly appreciate your loyalty and
As I write this, there are changes taking place behind the scenes. Anyone who has stuck with us over the years have been through multiple websites and transitions. We started WNYMoms.com in August of 2007, transitioned to Gannett's national platform of MomsLikeMe.com in September 2008, and then reverted back to our local roots right here in October of 2011. Back in 2011, when the Buffalo MLM went dark, I felt very strongly that we needed provide a platform for our members who were about to lose their little corner of the internet. Over the years, however, many of our members have moved on and our membership has dwindled. I expected that and I've always known people would move on. But I wanted it to be their choice to go, not ours.
Well, we're about to transition again. I don't have many details right now, other than to say we will remain true to our "Mom-centric" roots. We will not be using the current SocialGo platform so I'm going to have to transfer blogs and other posts to the new venue. I will post more details here as I get them myself.
Here's what I need from you, our members: Let me know what you'd like to see transferred from here to the new site and what new topics you'd like to see. You can post your ideas and comments below.
Again, thanks for everything!

And just so you know, we here at WNYMoms.com do our research - the conversation went something like this:
Me: "Hi, Kev! Can I take your picture? Then put a bunny nose and ears on it? And then put it all over the web and on TV?
For mine, I piped colored icing to detail the bowtie, and I used spring-colored Twizzler Pull N Peels for the ear outlines, whiskers, and mouth, and a candy jelly heart for the nose. For the eyes, I sliced off the heads of chocolate flavored Marshmallow Peeps and place a black jelly bean in the center of each one. Some people also choose to cover the cake in shredded coconut, for the bunny's "fur". Happy Baking!
